Michael Burgess, Director of the New York State Office
for the Aging, visited Corning Senior Center on 12/5/08
to learn about the "TRUST
in the
LIVES
of OLDER WOMEN" Program. Corning Mayor Tom Reed and Assemblymember
Jim Bacalles, 136th District, as well as several women
group members participated. There were
about 20
people
attending.

Training continues, most recently in Bath, NY, October
'08 - Welcome
to new
facilitators
and
looking
forward
to the new groups being established

Dr. Hofsess presented at the International Federation
on Ageing Conference September '08 in Montreal engaging
with
people
showing interest in this program. They were first to see
Dr. Hofsess's new book The Needs and Benefits for
Supporting Older Women. This book will be available

Kathy Burns was hired in May 2008 by Steuben County Office
for the Aging to coordinate the further development of the
"TRUST in the LIVES of OLDER WOMEN" program. She is working
to start new TRUST GROUPS in the county and is supporting
the continuation of the ones already in existence. Kathy
we wish you well in these endeavors.

The :"TRUST in the LIVES of OLDER WOMEN" program still
continues to make progress in the region with more new groups
starting up.

"Trust in the Lives of Older Women" Group
Facilitator Get-together was held on September 23,
2004 at the Corning Senior Center. All facilitators
that
have attended past training workshops were invited
to attend to support each other, celebrate successes
and
welcome new facilitators trained in June, 2004.
Since then Trust Talk, a newsletter for facilitators
and Trusting Times, for group members have been

Dr. Hofsess presented and exhibited

A Bon Voyage party, was given by Trust
in the Lives of Older Women Facilitators for Dr. Hofsess
prior to his trip to Singapore, on August 31st, 10am-12am
at First Presbyterian Church, Corning, NY. Thank you to
